Day 1: Arrival in Guatemala

09:00 PM Arrive at Guatemala City International Airport.  

11:30 PM Arrive at your host homes. Settle in, unpack. Get a good night’s sleep.

Day 2: Orientation and Village Tour

07:00 AM Breakfast with your host families

08:00 AM Depart from your neighborhoods and go to La Asociación Nuestros Ahijados

08:30 AM Meetfor orientation and safety talk

09:30 AM Tour of the Dreamer Center and Casa Jackson

10:30 AM Tour of the Scheel Center

12:00 Lunch with Homestays

01:00 PM Tour of the villages around Antigua

05:30 PM Dinner with your host families

06:30 PM Get together in Antigua for an enjoyable evening

Day 3: Whitewater Rafting/School Service Project

07:00 AM Breakfast at your host families

08:00 AM Depart from your CMP by bus for whitewater rafting trip 

08:20 AM Buy water and load pick-up snacks

09:00 AM Arrive rafting/rappling launch and enjoy breakfast

12:00 PM Picnic lunch

12:30 PM RAFTING/RAPPLELING

04:00 PM Depart River/Rappling location

05:30 PM Dinner at a restaurant post rafting

06:30 PM Get together for an evening circle.

Day 4: Home Build Day 1

07:00 AM Breakfast at your host families

08:00 AM Depart from your neighborhoods and go to La Asociación Nuestros Ahijados

08:20 AM Buy water and load pick-up with tools

08:45 AM Depart to worksites

09:00 AM Arrive at the worksite. Work time!

12:00 PM Picnic lunch at worksite

12:30 PM Resume construction

04:00 PM Depart from worksite

05:30 PM Dinner with your host families

06:30 PM Get together in Antigua for an enjoyable evening

Day 5: Home Build Day 2

07:00 AM Breakfast at your host families

08:00 AM Depart from your neighborhoods and go to La Asociación Nuestros Ahijados

08:20 AM Buy water and load pick-up with tools

08:45 AM Depart to worksites

09:00 AM Arrive at worksite. Work time!

12:00 PM Picnic lunch at worksite

12:30 PM Resume construction

04:00 PM Depart from worksite

05:30 PM Dinner with your host families

06:30 PM Walk to Santa Madre Shelter to serve dinner to the people there

Day 6: Last Day of Home Build

07:00 AM Breakfast at your host families

08:00 AM Depart from your neighborhoods and go to La Asociación Nuestros Ahijados

08:45 AM Depart to worksites

09:00 AM Arrive at worksite. Work time!

12:00 PM Picnic lunch at worksite

12:30 PM Resume construction

04:00 PM Depart from worksite

05:30 PM Dinner with your host families

06:30 PM Get together in Antigua for an enjoyable evening

Day 7: Clothing Distribution, Free Time and Closing Dinner

07:00 AM Breakfast at your host families

08:00AM Depart from your neighborhoods and go to La Asociación Nuestros Ahijados

09:30 AM Arrive at clothing distribution and start setting up

12:00 PM Head back to host families

12:30 PM Lunch with your host families

01:30 PM Free time in Antigua. You may use this time to go shopping

04:30 PM Go to La Asociación Nuestros Ahijados for your Closing Dinner!

Day 8: Lake Atitlan

07:15 AM Breakfast with your host families

08:00 AM Depart from your host families’ homes for Lake Atitlan accompanied by your bus driver and guide

11:00 AM Arrive at Mayan National Park.

01:00 PM Arrive in the town of Panajachel on Lake Atitlan

01:30 PM Lunch at a lakeside restaurant

03:00 PM Cross the lake to Santiago for shopping, this is an extra Q50 (about $7 per person)

07:00 PM Dinner at a local restaurant

Day 9: Chichicastenango (Chichi) Market

08:15 AM Depart Panajachel for Chichicastenango

09:30 AM Arrive in Chichicastenango for breakfast

10:45 AM Shopping in Chichicastenango

01:00 PM Lunch at a local restaurant

02:30 PM Depart for Antigua

05:00 PM Arrive in Antigua

06:30 PM Order pizza for dinner or go out to a restaurant

Day 10: Depart for Home

04:00 AM Depart from your host families’ homes for Guatemala City InternationalAirport

05:00 AM Arrive at Guatemala City International Airport

07:00 AM Depart for home

**This is a typical ServiceTeam Experience. Each team’s itinerary is scheduled and coordinated depending on staff, time of year, size of group, as well as a number of other factors. If your team has special requests, please let your International Volunteer Coordinator know. Adventure components are included yet optional and can include ziplining, hiking an active volcano, coffee farm tour, and a visit to the beach.
